Where is the Richland Hills City Jail located?

The City of Richland Hills does not maintain a Richland Hills City Jail.  Through an agreement with NRH, all persons arrested by the Richland Hills Police Department are taken to the NRH Joint Detention Facility located on N.E. Loop 820. The address is:

North Richland Hills Joint Detention Facility
7301 N.E. Loop 820
North Richland Hills, Texas 76180

How can I check to see if someone is in custody in the NRH Detention Facility?

The NRH Joint Detention Facility does not provide a list of inmates on its website. To determine whether someone is currently in custody, you must call the jail at (817) 427-7000 (Option 3).

If someone was arrested by the Richland Hills Police Department, but is not currently in custody at the NRH Joint Detention Facility, there is also a chance that he or she was taken to a different Tarrant County jail facility. You can check the main Tarrant County Jail inmate list online at Tarrant County Inmate Search.

What are the Visiting Hours and Visitation Rules at the NRH Joint Detention Facility?

While the NRH Detention Facility is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, the visiting hours at the Jail are limited:

  • Visitation hours are Daily from 1pm – 5pm, and 7pm – 6am;
  • Visitors must be at least 18 years old and bring a valid driver’s license or identification;
  • Visitors must be dressed appropriately and not have any active warrants.

NOTE: An inmate does not become eligible for visitation until 24 hours have passed since the initial arrest.  This restriction does not apply to attorneys.

Can an Inmate Make a Telephone Call?

According to the North Richland Hills Joint Detention Facility website, inmates are given the opportunity to make a phone call after the booking process is complete.
