Colleen Cornelison
EXPERIENCED
Colleen Cornelison is an Associate Attorney at Barnett Howard & Williams, PLLC, where she handles both family law and criminal defense matters. Before joining BHW, Colleen worked for four years alongside Attorney Atticus Gill, owner of the highly regarded Gill Law Firm, PLLC located in Hurst, TX. While there, Colleen assisted in the diligent and conscientious representation of hundreds of criminal and family law clients, practicing in numerous courts and counties throughout North Texas. Colleen also spent a year working at one of the largest criminal defense firms in the DFW metroplex, where she gained extensive experience as a criminal defense and immigration attorney.
COMPASSIONATE
As an adoptee and former child in the foster care system, Colleen’s desire to help others stems from a background of being someone who has largely benefited from effective legal advocates. Not having forgotten her roots, Colleen possesses a genuine desire to empower individuals who are faced with navigating the complex legal system. She has a heart to help those who cannot help themselves. She is a voice for the overlooked, forgotten, and mistreated. In Colleen you will always find a kind and compassionate advocate.
SERVANT SPIRIT
Colleen has dedicated her life to giving back to her community. Prior to pursuing a career in the legal field, Colleen spent three years as an educator at Belton ISD in Central Texas. As a teacher, she was afforded the opportunity to daily affect 200 student lives. Today she uses her time and talents to assist individuals and their families through difficult legal trials.
